Delete your Gelly account and data

This page is for the Gelly apps for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows and the website gelly.bio, from the developer Gelly.

How to ask for deletion

Email privacy [at] gelly.bio with the subject “Delete my Gelly account”. Send it from the email address of your Gelly account.
We reply to confirm that the account is yours. If you can’t use that address, or you signed in with Apple’s Hide My Email, we ask you to confirm another way.
We delete your account and data within 30 days of your confirmation and tell you when it is done. Deletion can’t be undone.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought in Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it there first. We cancel a subscription bought on gelly.bio for you.

What we delete

Your account: name, email address, organisation and sign-in record.
What you created: notebooks, protocols, images, files, voice recordings, transcripts and shared pages.
Usage information linked to your account, such as which features you used, device and app version, and error information.
Records of your AI requests and answers.
Your subscription status and your messages to us, unless we have to keep them by law.

What we keep, and for how long

Invoices and payment records: for the periods German tax and commercial law set, up to 10 years.
Database backups: your data leaves our backups as they expire, normally within 90 days. We don’t use them for anything but recovery after a failure.
Notebooks you work on with others: notebooks of a company lab stay with the lab. Notebooks that other people also work in stay available to them. We tell you which ones this affects before we delete anything.

What we can’t delete for you

Backups written to your own drive (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox or Nextcloud), and data stored on your devices. Uninstall the app to remove it from a device.
Purchase records held by Google Play, the App Store and Stripe, and requests already processed by an AI or speech provider. Their own terms apply; see Privacy.

Delete some data and keep your account

Email privacy [at] gelly.bio from the email address of your account and say what should be deleted, for example a notebook, your voice recordings or your AI request records. The steps, the 30 days and the periods above apply in the same way.
